Revelstoke Domestic Violence Committee
Providing a trauma-informed lens to cases of sexual assault
The Revelstoke Domestic Violence Committee (RDVC) was developed to be the umbrella for the ICAT-Integrated Case Assessment Team for high-level domestic cases. The Revelstoke Women’s Shelter became part of the ICAT and the RDVC was formed under the former Executive Director, Nelli Richardson, who chaired the committee. This project can be considered a “branch” of the Revelstoke Women’s Shelter, in that it is a stand-alone project that is housed by the Women’s Shelter as host agency. The Civil Forfeiture Grant paid for the development of the sexual assault protocol, a local resource that gives a trauma-informed lens to service providers and first responders in their work when dealing with cases of sexual assault.
